Downloading Animals and Zoos. Empty Downloading Animals and Zoos.

Post by tigerfreak428 Fri Sep 19, 2008 3:34 am

When I download the Duin Gazelle, it makes a folder. It is labeled as Duingazelle. Inside that folder are 4 more folders. They are labeled ai, entitles, lang, and ui. What do I do with these to get the animal in my game?

I downloaded the Freeform Grassland Map II. It makes a folder labeled Saved. In that folder are three things: a file saying terrain.dat, a pic named thumbnail.jpg, and a another things named world.zt2. How do I get the zoo on my game?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Hi Tigerfreak438,

You've probably unzipped the files? You should not open the files, just copy and paste them into this folder:

Zoos: C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Application Data\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2\Default Profile (or your name)\Saved

Animals and other downloads: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2

Hopefully this will help you,
Sophie

It still didn't work. I didn't unzip it. Do your downloads work for Mac computers? Or only Windows?

Mmm, I've never tried my downloads on a Mac. Wink So maybe that's the problem...

Aww! I really hope someone figures out how to use your downloads on a Mac. I just love your creations!

Sophie, do you have a Mac or do one of your friends? I'd really love to know how to download them onto a Mac computer.

Also, sorry for the triple post.. but when I download a zoo, it downloads and makes a folder on my desktop. In that folder are three things:
-terrain.dat (document)
-thumbnail.jpg (pic of zoo)
-world.zt2

Where should I put what? I've tried putting each of them in the saved folder.

You should not open or unzip the file. Just place the .z2f file in the right folder (see my first post).

But I don't unzip it. When I download it I automatically get a folder with the three things that I listed in my previous post. Sad

Mm, then your computer automatically unzipped the file. Wink You can fix it by right-clicking all of the files, then choose 'Add to archive' and then save it as a ZIP file, but with a .z2f extension. Paste the created file into the Zoo Tycoon 2 folder I mentioned before. Wink

Good luck,
Sophie

(Please don't mind my bad English xD)

Oh! I see.

But I have another problem. Haha. How do I make it a .z2f extension?

Thank you for all your help!

Well, if you right-click the files, and choose 'Add to archive', a new screen will open. Select the ZIP extension instead of the RAR extension.
You'll now see the name of the file, which will look something like this:

'Shetlandpony.zip'

Change .zip into .z2f, and press enter and you're done! Very Happy
